Abstract

Imam al-Shatibi, may God have mercy on him, originated the basis of the difference of legal rulings between the total and the partial. He decided that the permissibility of the part or the whole is attracted by the remaining rulings, so what is permissible by the part may be required by the whole on the side of recommendation or obligatory, and the permissible by the part may be forbidden by the whole on the side of prohibition or dislike.
