Maladaptive Cognitive Schemas, Sexual Irrational Thoughts and Sexual Satisfaction as predictors of Low sexual desire disorder among a sample of married women

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the nature of the correlation between non-adaptive cognitive schemes, irrational sexual beliefs, sexual satisfaction, and low sexual desire disorder in married women, and to identify the differences between the mean scores of high sexual desire and low sexual desire in the variables of the study, and the extent to which it is possible to predict low sexual desire disorder from Through the variables of the psychological study, the study followed the method of correlational studies, and the study relied on each of Leung's adaptive cognitive schemes questionnaire, the sexual desire deficiency disorder scale, the sexual satisfaction scale, and the sexual beliefs intelligence, and the study was applied to a sample of (400 ) a married married woman in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, their ages ranged between (22-50) years, with an arithmetic mean of (33.76), and a standard deviation of (6.45). The study found the following results: the existence of a significant and positive correlation between the disorder of low sexual desire and each of the non-adaptive cognitive schemas and irrational sexual beliefs, the presence of a significant and negative correlation between the disorder of weak sexual desire and sexual satisfaction in married women, and the presence of statistically significant differences at the level (0.01). There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.01) between the mean scores of high and low attitude towards sexual desire in favor of the variable (sexual satisfaction) in favor of high concupiscence.
