Alternative Housing Projects as a Mechanism of Solving: The Problems of Unsafe Slum Areas: A Field Study

This research tackles one main objective which is to determine the extent to which the alternative housing projects have provided services that help solve the problems facing unsafe slum areas inhabitants ,The research uses The descriptive approach  as well as applying interview evidence on a sample of 50 families living in such areas and who have benefited from Al-Mahrosa 1 and 2 Projects. The research also uses Talcott Parsons’s Role Theory and Ecological System Theory. The research has led to conclude some results of which the most important is that the housing project- Research Society- is a comprehensive project in terms of infrastructure services such as (natural gas- telephones- sanitation- drinking water- electricity- wide roads and paved streets) as well as in terms of public services such as (Consumer Services malls- Outlets- small malls- shops- playgrounds- police station- fire station- theme park- mosque- workshops area- cultural center) , The results also indicated that among the most important needs that they require in the future, which came in the context of the need to face the most important problems facing the research sample members in their new residential community, including the value of rent, and the problems of workers in government or private institutions, in addition to establishing a post office and civil registry.
