Abstract

The research is about the green electricity production at Jabal Al-Zeit wind farm, west of the Gulf of Suez. It started with an introduction that highlighted the importance of energy production in Egypt, defining the study area and its importance as a source of electricity production using wind energy. It also reviewed several previous geographical and non-geographical studies, as well as the methods and techniques used in the research. The research is divided into four axes.
The first axis dealt with the natural and human location suitability of the study area, where it clarified the role of the site, geological structure, surface features, climatic conditions, and bird migration paths in choosing the location of the Jabal Al-Zeit wind farm, west of the Gulf of Suez. In addition to the role of the population, the use of land, the archaeological environment and others in the human suitability of the study area, and its impact on the economic cost of the project.
The second axis discussed the development of production at the Jabal Al-Zeit wind farm, where it reviewed the development of electricity production at the annual and monthly levels. The third axis clarified the economics of electricity production at the farm by studying the volume of invested capital, the amount of electricity produced, and the conditions of employment.
As for the fourth axis, it referred to the future of green wind energy production in the study area, and it is represented in reducing the cost of producing electricity generated using wind energy to the maximum extent possible, in addition to using wind energy in the production of green hydrogen, with directing towards interest in international cooperation in the field of energy production. The research concluded with several results and recommendations, foremost of which came the emphasis on the importance of using renewable energy sources, strengthening international cooperation in this field, and considering green hydrogen energy as the future of energy in Egypt.
