The research presents the texts of the lost book “Almoareb an Akhbar al-Maghrib”, by Abu Ali al-Basri. which is considered one of the primary sources in the history of al-Maghrib, which is unique from his contemporary sources in terms of the purpose of its authorship. Where he dated the classes of those in power who ruled Ifriqiya, As well as classes of jurists, judges, grammarians, linguists and literary writers, Those who have one common denominator, is the literary sense. As well as the historical events that affected those, or they participated in making it. With some digressions and citations from the Far Maghreb and the Islamic East to serve the historical presentation. Therefore, the book is considered a literary, historical, political, military and social encyclopedia. Therefore, a group of valuable sources quoted it. The quotations of these sources were different from each other and not repeated, so that each of them employed the material he drew according to the purpose of his authorship. This confirms the richness of the material contained in the book, quantitatively and qualitatively. Therefore, this study aims to introduce the author of the book, and provide an approximate picture of the book's content and methodology. Which reflects some features of early historical writing about the Maghreb. Through the collection, investigation and study of the various fragments that historians, biographers, and later or contemporaneous writers quoted from it. This is done through introducing the author, his era, the name of the book and its thematic scope, and its historical value, the author's resources and sources, and the method of writing, And the topics in which the book material can be employed.
