Self-Differentiation and its Relationship to Cognitive Flexibility among Female Students Counselor at General Education Administration in Jazan region

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of self-differentiation and cognitive flexibility, and to investigate the relationship between self-differentiation and cognitive flexibility, and verifying the possibility of predicting the degree of cognitive flexibility Through the degree of self-differentiation of among Female Students Counselor at General Education Administration in Jazan region.  The descriptive approach was used, as the study sample consisted of (202) Female Students Counselor at General Education Administration in Jazan region. In order to achieve the research’s aims the scales of self-differentiation and cognitive flexibility was prepared.
 
    The results showed that there was a high level of self-differentiation (emotional interaction, integration with others, taking the position of the ego, total score), and a low level of emotional distancing. While there was a high level of cognitive flexibility (adaptive flexibility, automatic flexibility, cognitive flexibility, totals score). The results also indicated that there was a statistically significant relationship between self-differentiation (emotional interaction, integration with others, taking the position of the ego, total score) and cognitive flexibility. It is also possible to predict the degree of cognitive flexibility through the degree of self-differentiation among Female Students Counselor at General Education Administration in Jazan region.
