Abstract

          The research aims to identify the symbolic form between Ernst Cassirer and Susan Langer, and it dealt with the artistic works of each of them, and made the philosophy of symbolic forms a symbolic means of knowledge, and each of them went to establish the origin of the philosophy of symbolic forms, and each of them made man an animal that creates symbols and lives and praises his civilization by the symbol, and that the symbol is The intellectual energy of meanings and connotations. The symbolic form is characterized by the fact that it creates relationships between sensory signals and meanings. In light of this, the symbolic form was addressed in the philosophy of Ernst Cassirer and Susan Langer, and the position of each of them on the function of art, the symbol, the artistic image, and their relationship with reality, and that the symbol creates a world that is superior to the sensory signal, and that For Ernst Cassirer and Susanne Langer, art represents an image of external reality.
