The Psychopathic Personality and Its Relationship to Psychological Rebellion Among University Youth in Aden City

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the level of both the psychopathic personality and the level of psychological rebellion among a sample of university youth in the city of Aden, and to identify the relationship between the psychopathic personality and psychological rebellion. The descriptive, correlational approach was used in the current research, and the research sample consisted of (200) university youth. To achieve the research objectives, the Psychopathic Personality Scale was used, prepared by: Abu Huwaishel (2013), and the Psychological Rebellion Scale, prepared by: Ajwa et al. (2019).
The results of the research showed that the value of the hypothetical average for the level of psychological rebellion is higher than the actual average, while the value of “t” to determine the difference between the actual and hypothetical averages on the dimension of rebellion against parental authority (1.849), which is a value that is not statistically significant; This led to a decrease in the level of psychological rebellion among young people, and a high level of the psychopathic personality with an arithmetic average as a whole of (3.96). The results of the research also showed the existence of a positive correlation with statistical significance at the level of (0.01) between the psychopathic personality and psychological rebellion among young people, and with this positive correlation on the increase in the level of psychological rebellion leads to an increase in the emergence of the psychopathic personality.
