Abstract

The study aimed to explore the concept of power, its history, dynamics, and theories, as well as the impact of power on individuals' behavior and personalities. It also analyzed how power influences the formation and reformation of individual and collective identities. Furthermore, it examined how characters interact with power through the analysis of the content of three Arabic novels: "A Bit of Fear," "The Black Suits You," and "Season of Migration to the North." In most of these novels, power is depicted as a force that significantly affects the lives of individuals and societies, often leading to conflicts regarding its exercise or resistance against it. These novels reflect the interest of Arabic literature in the dynamics of power and its profound impact on social and political reality. The study concluded that possessing power can lead to radical behavioral transformations, either negative or positive, and emphasized the importance of establishing controls and regulatory institutions to limit the misuse of power and promote its ethical use.
