Abstract
This research which is entitled "Arabic Pragmatics for Ma'arouf Al-Rasafy", consists of an introduction. In this introduction, I discussed eloquence of Arabic language, its development, and the diversity of its branches over time. Then, I reviewed rationale for choosing this topic of research. Such reasons include the researcher's hope to tackle and delve into this discipline and field, scarcity of studies interested in applying the theory of speech acts to poetry on one side, and to enrich our cognitive and Arabic academia. I defined pragmatics among the Arabs according to what was mentioned in the use of the Arabs and presented the verses of the Qur’an in which the origin of the word pragmatics was mentioned, which is the subject of states, followed by a presentation of the projection of this pragmatic concept into the poetry of Al-Rasafy and a presentation of his previous studies and what distinguished the research from those studies that preceded it, with a mention of the method followed in it, which is The descriptive and analytical approach that is appropriate to the topic. Then, the researcher presented the introduction of the poet Marouf Al-Rasafy, in which he explained his upbringing, culture, and influence on his society, along with a collection of his poems that highlight the extent of his talent in poetry, then talking about the phenomenon of pragmatics in language and terminology, and explaining the most important contributions of ancient Arab scholars such as Sibawayh, Al-Jurjany, and Al-Sakaky. The researcher also shed light on mentioning the most important contributions of contemporary linguists such as Ahmed Al-Mutawakkil and Marouf Sahrawi, as well as mentioning the most important references and various sources between the ancient, the Mediterranean, and the modern in the conclusion.
