The current study aimed to reveal the differences between male and female adolescents in attachment styles, alexithymia, and hypochondria. The study sample consisted of (90) male and female students from the preparatory, secondary, and university stages, whose ages ranged from (13-20) year with average age (16. 11) and standard deviation (2. 06), from schools affiliated with the Directorate of Education in Fayoum Governorate, and from students at Fayoum University. The study tools included the primary data questionnaire, the attachment styles scale (prepared by: Asmaa Ahmed Muhammad Hussein), the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (Arabized by: Alaa El-Din Kafafiy, Fouad Al-Wash), and the hypochondriasis scale (prepared by: Muhammad Badr El-Din Abdel-Sabour). The results of the current study resulted in the absence of statistically significant differences between male and female adolescents in both attachment styles and alexithymia, and indicated the presence of statistically significant differences between male and female adolescents in hypochondriasis in the direction of females. The results also indicated that there was no significant effect of the stages of adolescence. The three (early, medium, and late) among the sample members in each of attachment styles, alexithymia, and hypochondria.
