Abstract

The research addressed the future health status of the population of Qena Governorate by estimating population numbers up to the year 2050 based on data from 2017. The results indicate that the population of Qena Governorate is expected to reach 4.3 million by 2030, representing a 36% increase from 2017. The population is projected to reach 7.1 million by 2050, maintaining the current growth rate.
The study identified the healthcare needs of the population in 2050 based on available data on healthcare services in 2022, including hospital beds, primary healthcare centers, physicians, and nursing staff. It revealed an increase in population at the outskirts of the governorate, particularly in the northern region. Consequently, these areas are considered the most in need of healthcare services in the study area, especially given the current shortage of some of these services
