Challenges faced by individuals in a risk society and their effects on health levels "A descriptive study of Egyptian society"

Abstract

       The aim of this research is to describe the challenges faced by individuals in the context of a risk society and their effects on health levels, as the risk society includes a set of challenges that have repercussions and effects on the health levels of individuals, threaten their health security, and create a kind of fear and anxiety about the present and the future. The management of challenges and risks initially focused only on industrial risks, until it reached in recent years to include all forms of risks. Social reality indicates that individuals differ in the nature of their perception of societal challenges and risks, and the perception of the most worrisome risks, and thus how to deal with them. Poverty and institutional challenges associated with health care organizations, health inequality, the inability of these organizations to meet the health needs of individuals, the burden of diseases, emerging diseases, and unsafe health technology are the most important challenges faced by individuals in the context of a risk society, which have effects on their health levels. Social participation, governance and social responsibility, risk management and social protection, improving available health resources, and health digitization represent the most important mechanisms and strategies for dealing with the challenges of the risk society.
