Objective: The research’s objective is to recognize the contribution of contemporary sports policies to the empowerment of young athletes in Egypt and to learn about their suggestions. Theory: The research used a theoretical conception derived from Bourdieu's concepts of capital and habitus, and Merton's concepts of Manifest and Latent functions. Methodology: The research employed a Descriptive Analytical method by conducting interviews in the Red Sea governorate on (52) players in six different sports in four cities of the governorate, as well as (10) interviews with officials and coaches of sports institutions. Findings: The research found the contribution of contemporary sports policies, in particular sports participation policy, to the four types of empowerment, as well as the contribution of developing sports infrastructure and holding sports events policies to social, cultural, and health empowerment. The most important features of social empowerment were the formation of players’ social identities and awareness of their social role, while cultural empowerment focused on the acquisition of an athletic identity. Health empowerment included physical, psychological, and mental health improvements for the players, and economic empowerment incorporated players' learning of wise expenditure behaviors. Also, the research developed the main features of the Athletic Habitus shown by the research participants.
