Abstract

The phenomenon of school dropout is one of the most prominent challenges facing educational systems in many countries, especially in areas suffering from exacerbating social and economic problems. In Luxor Governorate, this phenomenon stands out as a pressing issue that warrants study and analysis, given its negative repercussions for both individuals and society. School dropout deprives individuals of opportunities for personal and professional development, hindering societal progress and deepening social gaps.
This study aims to analyze the demographic dimensions of school dropout in Luxor Governorate by understanding the factors influencing this phenomenon, whether economic, social, or cultural. It also seeks to identify the groups most affected by this problem, whether in terms of gender, age group, or economic status. This aims to provide a comprehensive vision that will help develop effective strategies to mitigate this phenomenon.
The importance of this study stems from its ability to shed light on the reality of education in Luxor Governorate, one of Egypt's most culturally and socially unique regions. By analyzing demographic data, it is possible to identify the prevailing patterns in the dropout phenomenon and understand how numerous factors interact to shape this phenomenon. This contributes to providing actionable recommendations to decision-makers, with the aim of improving the quality of education and ensuring student continuity in the educational process.
