The role of social networking in achieving sustainable development goals in Gharb Sohil Nubian village: Field study in anthropologyField study in anthropology

     The study aimed to identify the role of the social relation network in achieving sustainable development goals in the Nubian village of Gharb Suhail, and the challenges facing the achievement of these goals. Methodology: The study depends on the anthropological method and the interview and observation guide as the main tools for collecting data. The study was conducted on a sample of (30 informants) residing in the Nubian village of Gharb Suhail, located in Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt, with ages ranging from (20 to 70) years. The study relied on the theory of social networks and the theory of social cohesion as theoretical orientations for the study. Results: The results showed that the cohesion of the village's social structure is based on customs and traditions, social solidarity, neighborly ties, friendship, and professional cooperation. It was also found that the social network, the local community development association, the youth center, and community initiatives in the village contribute effectively to achieving sustainable development goals. These goals are represented in eliminating poverty, empowering women, achieving equality, education, preserving the environment, and rational investment in available resources. Infrastructure deterioration, insufficient funding, limited expertise, and a lack of project planning and feasibility studies are among the most significant challenges facing the achievement of sustainable development goals in the village. The study recommends that policymakers and decision-makers formulate a strategic plan with Community Participation to achieve the village's sustainable development goals, while providing the necessary support and funding.
