Memoirs are among the literary genres that most frequently borrow techniques from the art of the novel. Memoirs are based on narrative and its techniques in their writing style. This study focuses on highlighting the use of temporal structure in memoirs, as they constitute the fine thread that connects the remaining narrative elements (events, characters, setting, narrator, etc.) in memoirs characterized by their historical dimension. The study chose the element of narrative rhythm to be a clear indicator of the significance of temporal structure in memoirs. It also takes the memoirs of Najmi Alawi and Huda Shaarawi as a practical model. This study aims to define the art of memoirs, particularly feminist memoirs, in Persian and Arabic literature. It also highlights their most important artistic features, their relationship to the art of the novel, and the extent to which narrative elements overlap in the art of memoirs in both Persian and Arabic literature. It also highlights the most important techniques of narrative rhythm and the ways in which they are employed in the memoirs of Najmi Alawi and Huda Shaarawi, clarifying their chronological pattern. The study relies on a comparative approach, in accordance with the principles of the American school, to achieve its desired objectives.
