Abstract

The current study aimed to explore the attitudes of teachers of deaf students toward the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and to assess their level of knowledge in this area. To achieve this, a descriptive survey methodology was employed. Data were collected using a specially designed questionnaire that included demographic information, along with ten items measuring knowledge and thirteen items measuring attitudes. The validity and reliability of the instrument were confirmed, and it was administered to a sample of 166 teachers of the deaf, divided into a pilot sample (40) and a main study sample (126). The results revealed a high level of knowledge among teachers regarding the use of AI in teaching, along with generally positive attitudes toward its implementation. No statistically significant differences were found in participants' responses based on gender, academic qualification, educational stage, or years of experience. However, significant differences were identified based on the number of training courses attended, with those who completed six or more courses showing more favorable attitudes and knowledge levels. The study recommended the provision of specialized and ongoing training programs for teachers of the deaf, as well as increased institutional support to reinforce positive attitudes. It also suggested conducting an experimental study to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a tailored training program focused on AI integration in teaching practices.
