Infinitive Structures in the Poetry of "Al-Akouk" (160-213 H.): A Study, Taxonomy and Statistical Analysis

Abstract

This research consists of an introduction, a preface, and objectives of the study. In the introduction, the researcher covered and tackled:

Rationale for choosing the topic of the study.
Significance of the study
Previous relevant studies
Methodology and approach adopted

After that, there is the preface which includes a synopsis about the concerned poet (i.e. Al-Akouk) and his poetic collection (i.e. poetic diwan), literary life in the Abbasid Era. In the preface, the researcher defined "infinitives" linguistically and idiomatically, classified them into categories, counted infinitive structure statistically using percentage based on mentioning several examples. In addi6tion, the study is based on several sources and references including the modern, the contemporary and the modern.
