Self-compassion and its relationship to post-traumatic growth among mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder

Abstract

 he current study aimed to find out the relationship between self-compassion and post-traumatic growth among mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder, and the study sample consisted of (160) mothers, aged between (20-64) years with an average age of (39.25) years, and a standard deviation estimated at ± (7.50) years, and the self-compassion scale was applied to them from (Prepared by: Neff (2003); Translation and codification: The researcher, and the post-traumatic growth scale (prepared by "Tedeschi & Calhoun, 1996"); translated by: Kira, et al. (2013), and the comparative correlational descriptive approach was also relied upon to verify the hypotheses of the study, and through the study, The results of the study found: There is a statistically significant positive relationship between self-compassion and post-traumatic growth in mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder.
